Peschka studied at the Vienna Academy under Christian Griepenkerl, together with Egon Schiele, whose sister he later married. Through Schiele, he also met Gustav Klimt. The Vienna Museum holds a fabulous Ego Schiele portrait by him.
In 1910, he exhibited at the Neukunstgruppe [New Arts Group]. In 1923, Fritz Karpfen wrote enthusiastically about Peschka in his overview of Austrian art: “His paintings are penetrating, blasting through conventional shapes while happily constructing a new exposition... You feel that this is an artist able to achieve something great, who has within him the means to do this.”
From 1922 to 1935, he was a member of the Hagenbund, participating in almost all of its exhibitions. Member of the association of artists “Wassermann [Aquarius]” founded by Felix Albrecht Harta and Anton Faistauer in Salzburg. His work was also included in exhibitions by the group of artists called “Maerz” in Linz.
In 1993, Peschkaweg in Vienna-Hietzing was named after him.
